When lock bumping first came into reality many companies advocated the removal of cylinder locks from any area that they could be an issue. In time, others learned exactly how to prevent the method from working and as the years have passed most have a more practical approach to lock bumping.

What most businesses do now is make sure the key used in the lock is as jagged and as smooth as possible. Anything that does not match up will cause the lock bumping to fail.

You may think this is not a necessity if you have high-security locks. This, however, is not the case. We have learned a lot about lock bumping in recent years and knowing how to prevent it is an absolute necessity for today’s business owners.
